Job summary

Primo Foods is seeking an experienced Export Customer Director to lead growth across export markets and drive profitability. You will partner with distributors, retailers and QSRs while guiding pricing, promotions and strategic initiatives.

You will own the export P&L, manage budgets and forecast demand, and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance to deliver sustainable commercial outcomes. A senior leadership role in FMCG.

Primo Foods is Australia's most recognised and trusted smallgoods brand, proudly part of JBS Australia, the country's largest and most respected meat and food producer. We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Export Customer Director to lead the continued growth of our export business across retail and QSR channels and play a key role in driving Primo's ongoing success across international markets.

Reporting to the General Manager Sales, the role leads an established team and is responsible for driving sales growth, profitability, market expansion and customer engagement across a diverse portfolio of export markets. Working closely with cross-functional teams across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain and Finance, you will bring Primo's export strategy to life by identifying opportunities to accelerate growth, strengthen customer partnerships and deliver sustainable commercial outcomes.

Success in this role requires a leader who is equally comfortable operating in the boardroom and in-market. While you'll be engaging with senior executives, key customers and industry stakeholders across Asia, you'll also work closely with distributors, retail customers and QSR partners to identify opportunities, solve challenges and drive execution on the ground. We're looking for someone who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with a hands-on approach and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves to deliver results.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of Primo's export strategy, identifying opportunities to accelerate growth and strengthen our presence across existing and emerging export markets.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities and develop strategic partnerships with distributors, retail customers and QSR operators across international markets.
• Partner closely with distributors, retail customers and QSR operators to drive execution excellence, identify growth opportunities and strengthen Primo's market presence.
• Lead key customer relationships across distributor, retail and QSR channels, negotiating commercial agreements and developing mutually beneficial growth plans.
• Own the Export P&L, delivering revenue, profitability and market share objectives.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Category, Innovation and Operations teams to bring new products and growth initiatives to market.
• Develop pricing, promotional and trading strategies that maximise profitability while maintaining competitiveness.
• Champion customer and market insights, translating opportunities into actionable business strategies.
• Lead the forecasting and demand planning process to optimise service levels and supply chain performance.
• Ensure effective management of export supply chain operations, distribution networks and inventory planning.
• Monitor market dynamics, competitor activity and emerging consumer trends to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Represent the export function within the broader leadership team, contributing to company-wide strategic initiatives.

About You

• Proven success in a senior commercial, sales or export leadership role within a fast-paced FMCG environment, preferably working with short shelf-life products.
• Strong track record of delivering profitable growth, developing strategic customer partnerships and leading complex negotiations.
• Exceptional commercial acumen with demonstrated experience managing budgets, forecasting and P&L performance.
• Experience working across international markets, with a strong understanding of export operations, distributor networks and retail and/or QSR channels.
• A collaborative and influential leader who can engage stakeholders across multiple functions and build high-performing teams.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Marketing or a related discipline, supported by strong commercial leadership experience.
