Job summary

Frog Recruitment is partnering with a well-established global freight forwarding and logistics organisation in Melbourne to recruit an Export Operator. The role covers air and sea exports, coordinating shipments from booking to departure, with a focus on customer service and operational accuracy.

You will report to the Export Manager and work in a supportive team, ensuring timely updates and smooth coordination across offices and service providers.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate air and sea export bookings.
• Arrange carrier bookings with airlines and shipping lines.
• Organise transport, cargo receivals and shipment scheduling.
• Prepare and check export documentation (Air Waybills, Bills of Lading).
• Monitor shipment progress and milestones.
• Provide timely updates to customers and stakeholders.
• Liaise with overseas offices, customs brokers and service providers.
• Assist with job costing and invoicing.

people2people are partnering with a well-established global freight forwarding and logistics organisation seeking an experienced Export Operator to join their Melbourne operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a freight forwarding professional looking for a long-term contract role with an immediate start. Working across both air and sea export operations, you'll join a supportive team environment where you'll play a key role in coordinating shipments, managing customer expectations and ensuring operational excellence.

The Role

Reporting to the Export Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating export shipments from booking through to departure, while maintaining a high level of customer service and operational accuracy.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating air and sea export bookings
• Arranging carrier bookings with airlines, shipping lines and co-loaders
• Organising transport, cargo receivals and shipment scheduling
• Preparing and checking export documentation, including Air Waybills and Bills of Lading
• Monitoring shipment progress and managing operational milestones
• Providing timely updates to customers, agents and stakeholders
• Liaising with overseas offices, customs brokers and service providers
• Assisting with job costing and invoicing activities
• Maintaining accurate records within CargoWise
• Supporting the wider export team to achieve operational deadlines and KPIs

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience within freight forwarding export operations
• Exposure to air freight, sea freight or both
• Strong understanding of export documentation and freight processes
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• CargoWise experience is highly regarded
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach to operations
