Job summary

Jet Black Pavements Pty Ltd, West Gosford NSW, is seeking an experienced Float / Low Loader Driver to move asphalt and civil equipment on the Central Coast. This is not an entry-level HC role; experience transporting construction plant on a low loader/float trailer is essential.

You will load, restrain, transport and unload machinery at sites, and may drive a HC combo with a walking-floor/Flocon trailer for asphalt deliveries.

Job description

Experienced HC Float / Low Loader Driver – Machinery Transport

Jet Black Pavements Pty Ltd – West Gosford NSW

Jet Black Pavements is looking for an experienced Float / Low Loader Driver to join our team on the Central Coast.

This is not an entry-level HC driving position. We are specifically looking for someone with previous experience transporting construction plant and machinery on a low loader / float trailer.

The successful applicant will be responsible for safely moving our asphalt and civil construction equipment between our West Gosford yard and job sites throughout the Central Coast and surrounding areas.

The role

Your primary responsibility will be the safe transport of our plant and equipment, including machinery such as:

• Asphalt pavers
• Profiler / milling machine
• Rollers

You will be responsible for the complete machinery movement — loading, positioning, restraining, transporting and unloading plant safely at site.

The role also includes driving our HC combination with a walking-floor/Flocon trailer for asphalt deliveries when required.

What we're looking for

We are looking for an experienced operator who is comfortable working independently and understands what's involved in safely moving heavy construction equipment.

Essential:

• Current HC driver's licence
• Road Ranger/manual experience
• Demonstrated experience driving a prime mover with low loader / float trailer
• Previous experience loading and unloading construction machinery
• Sound knowledge of load restraint and safe machinery transport
• Ability and confidence to manoeuvre a low loader into construction sites and confined work areas
• Good understanding of heavy vehicle safety and road transport requirements
• Reliable, safety-focused and able to look after equipment
• Able to work independently as well as part of our asphalt crews
• Construction White Card

Highly regarded:

• Experience transporting asphalt, civil or earthmoving equipment
• Experience operating construction plant for loading/unloading purposes
• Experience with walking-floor or Flocon trailers
• Experience working around asphalt or civil construction crews
