Job summary

Architectus in Brisbane is seeking a Graduate or Designer/Architect to join our Public team, contributing to design development, documentation, and on-site problem solving across public buildings that serve communities.

You will work with senior team members, prepare architectural visuals, support quality control, and mentor junior staff, with flexible work options and career development opportunities in a collaborative studio culture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years post-graduation in architectural/design role.
• Australian registration or eligibility/willingness to work toward registration.
• Strong design thinking with technical, documentation and construction knowledge.
• Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office; Rhino/Enscape preferred.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

About The Role

We are currently seeking a talented Graduate or Designer/Architect to join our Public team. Life's most memorable experiences occur in the public buildings that exist at the heart of communities. We have created museums, galleries, theatres, libraries, courts and sports projects that elevate people's lives, with places of enduring quality.

In This Role, You Will

• Work on a range of Public project typologies.
• Contribute to design development, detailed design and documentation across all project stages, including site visits and resolving on-site issues
• Prepare architectural documentation, renderings, presentations and visual material that meet project objectives, quality standards and project milestones
• Provide technical input and recommend practical, well-considered design solutions, applying knowledge of architectural principles, construction methods, codes and regulations
• Work closely with senior team members, clients, consultants, contractors and technical specialists to support smooth project delivery
• Assist with quality control and ensure all project documentation aligns with Architectus standards, processes and filing protocols
• Support and guide junior team members with technical advice and collaborative input as required

About You

You are a capable, motivated and experienced Graduate or Designer/Architect who enjoys working collaboratively, takes pride in producing high-quality work and is looking to continue developing your design and technical capability within the Public sector.

You’ll Bring

• Industry experience (minimum 3 years post-graduation in a similar architectural/design role)
• Australian architectural registration, or eligibility/willingness to work toward registration
• Strong design thinking paired with well-developed technical, documentation and construction knowledge (including Australian codes, materials and methods)
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office - in addition, Rhino and Enscape experience is highly preferred
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage delegated tasks and deadlines with limited supervision
• A collaborative mindset, ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams, and commitment to ongoing professional development and contributing positively to studio culture
