Job summary

Architectus in Brisbane is seeking a Graduate or Designer/Architect to join our Public team. You’ll contribute to design development, documentation, and on-site problem solving across public building projects such as museums, galleries and libraries.

You’ll work with senior staff, clients and consultants, applying architectural principles, codes and materials, with a focus on delivering high-quality documentation and practical design solutions.

Qualifications

  • Graduate or Designer/Architect with design and technical capabilities.
  • Strong design thinking and development skills across project stages.
  • Experience with Australian codes, materials and construction methods.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office; Rhino and Enscape preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a range of Public project typologies.
  • Contribute to design development, detailed design and documentation across all project stages.
  • Prepare architectural documentation, renderings and visual material meeting project milestones.
  • Provide technical input and practical design solutions using architectural principles and codes.
  • Collaborate with senior team, clients, consultants and contractors to support delivery.
  • Assist with quality control and ensure documentation aligns with Architus standards (Architectus).
  • Support and guide junior team members with technical input.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a talented Graduate orDesigner/Architect to join our Public team. Life's most memorable experiences occur in thepublic buildings that exist at the heart of communities. We have createdmuseums, galleries, theatres, libraries, courts and sports projects thatelevate people's lives, with places of enduring quality.

In this role, you will:

  • Workon a range of Public project typologies.
  • Contributeto design development, detailed design and documentation across allproject stages, including site visits and resolving on-site issues
  • Preparearchitectural documentation, renderings, presentations and visual materialthat meet project objectives, quality standards and project milestones
  • Providetechnical input and recommend practical, well-considered design solutions,applying knowledge of architectural principles, construction methods,codes and regulations
  • Workclosely with senior team members, clients, consultants, contractors andtechnical specialists to support smooth project delivery
  • Assistwith quality control and ensure all project documentation aligns withArchitectus standards, processes and filing protocols
  • Supportand guide junior team members with technical advice and collaborativeinput as required
About You

You are a capable, motivated and experienced Graduate or Designer/Architect whoenjoys working collaboratively, takes pride in producing high-quality work andis looking to continue developing your design and technical capability withinthe Public sector.

You'll bring:

  • Industryexperience (minimum 3 years post-graduation in a similararchitectural/design role)
  • Australianarchitectural registration, or eligibility/willingness to work towardregistration
  • Strongdesign thinking paired with well-developed technical, documentation andconstruction knowledge (including Australian codes, materials and methods)
  • Intermediateto advanced proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and MicrosoftOffice – in addition, Rhino and Enscape experience is highly preferred
  • Strongcommunication and organisational skills, with the ability to managedelegated tasks and deadlines with limited supervision
  • Acollaborative mindset, ability to work effectively withinmultidisciplinary project teams, and commitment to ongoing professionaldevelopment and contributing positively to studio culture
