Job summary

Smalls Power Poles & Linework in Vineyard, NSW, seeks an Experienced Excavator Operator – Level 1 Electrical Network Construction. You will operate excavators and plant on electrical network projects, trench for HV and LV underground reticulation and street lighting, and prepare sites to network standards.

The role requires 3–5 years' excavator experience, appropriate tickets (excavator ticket, White Card), BYDA familiarity, a valid MR or HR licence, and a collaborative safety-first attitude.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years excavator operating experience in civil, utilities or electrical network work.
• Excavator ticket, Statement of Attainment or VOC.
• General Construction Induction (White Card).
• Experience digging around live underground services, and BYDA plans.
• Current MR or HR driver’s licence.

Experienced Excavator Operator – Level 1 Electrical Network Construction

Smalls Power Poles and Linework – Vineyard NSW

You'll operate excavators and various plant on electrical network projects, working with linework and cabling crews to trench for HV and LV underground reticulation and street lighting, install conduits, pits, pillars and cable bedding to network standards, excavate footings and pads for padmount and kiosk substations, pothole and expose existing underground services working near live assets, and backfill, compact and reinstate to network and council requirements along with loading and floating required machines between sites.

Key responsibilities

Install conduits, pits, pillars and cable bedding to network standards

Excavate and prepare footings and pads for padmount and kiosk substations

Pothole and expose existing underground services, working near live assets

Backfill, compact and reinstate to network and council requirements

About you

At least 3–5 years of excavator operating experience in civil, utilities or electrical network work

Excavator ticket, Statement of Attainment or VOC

Experience digging around live underground services, and an understanding of Before You Dig Australia (BYDA) plans

Current driver's licence (MR or HR highly regarded)
