Job summary

DirectBor seeks an experienced Project Manager for Civil & Underground Electrical projects in Victoria. You will own a portfolio from award to handover, leading supervisors and field crews, and serve as the client's main contact.

Based in Melbourne's western suburbs or nearby, you will manage planning, permits, budgets and contract administration, ensuring safe, on-time delivery and strong stakeholder communication with councils, DoT, utilities and residents.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' project management experience in civil construction (ideally underground utilities or electrical distribution).
• Proven delivery experience in inner metropolitan Melbourne with understanding of permit processes.
• Strong safety leadership and working knowledge of OHS Act 2004 (Vic).

Responsibilities

• Plan, program and resource works with crews, plant and subcontractors.
• Secure and manage permits with council, DoT and utility providers.
• Manage budgets, cost reporting, forecasting and progress claims.
• Administer contracts including variations and notices.
• Review quality documentation and as-constructed records.

Project Manager, Civil & Underground Electrical

You'll own a portfolio of Melbourne projects from award through to handover, leading supervisors and field crews and acting as the client's main point of contact.

Key responsibilities

Planning, programming and resourcing works in tight urban environments, including crews, plant and subcontractors

Securing and managing council, Department of Transport and Planning and utility permits, along with traffic management and night or out of hours works

Managing budgets, cost reporting, forecasting and monthly progress claims

Contract administration, including variations, delays, notices and claim substantiation

Driving safety leadership on site, including SWMS, permits, excavation controls, congested existing services and work near live electrical assets

Managing stakeholder and community interfaces with residents, businesses and councils

Reviewing quality documentation, ITPs and as constructed records

Managing subcontractor procurement, performance and payments

About you

Based in Melbourne's western suburbs, or within easy reach of them

5+ years' project management experience in civil construction, ideally underground utilities or electrical distribution

Proven delivery experience in inner metropolitan Melbourne, with a sound understanding of council and road authority permit processes

Solid grounding in contract administration and commercial management

Strong safety leadership and working knowledge of the OHS Act 2004 (Vic)

Clear communication skills with clients, crews, councils and the public

Confident with programming tools (MS Project or similar) and Microsoft 365

Current Victorian driver licence and Construction Induction Card (White Card)
