Qualifications

• Certificate II or III in commercial Cookery with at least 1 year of experience.
• Trade qualifications and genuine interest in hospitality required.
• Compliance with WHS, Food Safety and HACCP requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a wide range of meals from the menu.
• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food before use.
• Contribute to improving the menu list, kitchen facility, and business of the restaurant.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation.
• Standards and food preparation checklist.
• Prepare meat and non-vegetarian dishes and salads.
• Undertake portion control practices, arrange, and garnish food according to the Creative ethos of the kitchen.
• Store food in temperature-controlled facilities.
• Provide input in the creation of seasonal menus and new recipes.
• Season and cook food according to recipes or your own experience and knowledge.
• Help with stock management including, ordering, rotation, and wastage control.
• Ensure wastage is kept to a minimum.
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
