Qualifications

• Must have relevant commercial cookery qualifications or industry experience.
• Proven experience as a Chef in a busy cafe, restaurant, or similar kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible roster including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking food to a consistently high standard
• Following recipes, menu specifications and presentation standards
• Preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner service
• Assisting with menu planning and development
• Managing food preparation and cooking across different sections of the kitchen
• Ensuring food quality, portion control and presentation are maintained
• Maintaining food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards
• Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering
• Minimising food wastage and maintaining cost control
• Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen
