Job summary

A CNC Machinist position in Bathurst is available for an experienced professional to join a well-established manufacturing operation on a full-time basis. You will set up and run CNC and manual machines, interpret drawings, and ensure precise quality through measurements and inspections.

Applicants should have a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, at least 3 years in steel manufacturing, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade required.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in steel manufacturing or similar.
• Strong CNC machining and milling experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Solid understanding of precision measurement and machining principles.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good mathematical aptitude related to machining.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment.
• Perform precision machining and milling operations.
• Interpret engineering and technical drawings.
• Complete precision measurements and quality inspections.
• Select and manage appropriate tooling for machining operations.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup and programme issues.
• Perform routine machine and equipment maintenance.
• Ensure finished components meet dimensional and quality specs.

• Collaborate with Production and Engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve machining processes and efficiency.
