Job summary

The Peacock Hotel in Northcote, Melbourne is seeking an experienced Chef to join our busy kitchen team. You will work across all sections in a fast-paced environment and contribute to high-quality dishes while delivering great guest experiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years commercial cook experience.
• Sound knowledge of traditional and current food trends.
• Previous experience in menu development and costing.
• Attention to detail and compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Pre-service kitchen preparation (ingredients and menu items).
• Cook all menu items to order.
• Maintain high standards of quality, taste and presentation.
• Communicate with guests regarding dietary needs.
• Assist with menu planning and daily specials.
• Ensure kitchen areas are clean and organized.
• Adhere to food safety and cleaning programs.
• Take responsibility for kitchen duties, ordering and compliance.
• Train and mentor kitchen staff for service excellence.
• Supplier and cost management.
• Maintain OH&S standards within the team and kitchen.
• Flexible rotating roster.
