Job summary

The Royal Melbourne Hospital invites applications for a Personal Assistant to the Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Unit in Parkville, VIC. This role provides high-level secretarial and administrative support to the Head of Unit, ensuring smooth daily operations within a large surgical team.

You will handle inquiries from patients, GPs and clinicians, coordinate with consultants and residents, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience in medical administration or a similar healthcare role.
• Experience with EPIC, ECM or iPM is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Unit with day-to-day administration and unit operations
• Respond to patient, GP and stakeholder enquiries via phone and email
• Provide administrative support to consultants, registrars and residents
• Liaise with hospital departments, private practices and management
• Maintain accurate databases and administrative records
• Work autonomously, prioritise tasks and contribute effectively as part of a team
• Identify and act on opportunities to support the smooth running of the unit
