Job summary

Optus, a leading Australian telecommunications company, seeks a seasoned Senior Director, Enterprise Risk Management to own the RMA, RMF, RAS, and the Three Lines model. You will shape risk culture, governance, and reporting to Executive Management and the Board, driving risk insight into strategic decisions and resource allocation.

The role offers high visibility, cross-functional collaboration with Cyber, Compliance, Legal, Resilience and Technology teams, and a focus on reducing material

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in enterprise risk management, non-financial risk or risk transformation within regulated or complex organisations.
• Deep expertise in risk appetite, risk governance and risk architecture.
• Proven ability to translate risk insights into business decisions and risk reduction outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously enhance Optus' enterprise risk management approach.
• Own the enterprise Risk Appetite Statement, risk indicators, tolerances and escalation triggers.
• Own the Three Lines model ensuring accountability and independent challenge.
• Maintain and evolve enterprise risk profile, taxonomy and register.
• Drive risk assessments, scenario analysis and risk aggregation across material and emerging risks.
• Lead methodology for rating criteria and scales for risk assessment and escalation.
• Support executive risk owners and cross-functional teams to manage material risks.
