Job summary

Optus is seeking a Senior Director, Enterprise Risk Management to own the Risk Management Approach, Framework and Appetite for the organisation. You will shape the Three Lines of Defence, the enterprise risk profile, risk taxonomy and culture, aligning people, processes and governance into a single risk system.

This role offers high visibility with the Executive Risk Committee and Board Risk Committee, translating risk insights into decisions, resource allocation and measurable risk reduction

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in enterprise risk management, non-financial risk or risk transformation within regulated sectors.
• Deep expertise in risk appetite, enterprise risk profiles, Three Lines of Defence models, risk culture and architecture.
• Proven ability to translate risk insights into business priorities and tangible risk reduction outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and enhance Optus' enterprise risk management approach, ensuring effectiveness and practicality.
• Own the enterprise Risk Appetite Statement, including key risk indicators and escalation triggers.
• Own the Three Lines model ensuring accountability and independent challenge.
• Maintain and evolve the enterprise risk profile, taxonomy and risk register.
• Drive risk assessments, scenario analysis and risk aggregation to inform decisions.
• Produce the Enterprise Risk Profile and provide forward-looking risk trajectories to leadership.
• Support risk owners across functions to understand and manage material risks.
