Job summary

Optus is seeking a Senior Director, Non-Financial Risk Management to own enterprise risk disciplines, including RCSA, incidents, issues, acceptance and remediation. You will drive standardized risk practices across technology, cyber, resilience, privacy and operations, partnering with executives and the board to translate complex risk concepts into practical business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in non-financial risk within a large, complex organisation.
• Deep expertise with RCSA, risk acceptance, incidents, issues management and control assessment.
• Proven ability to translate enterprise risk frameworks into practical policies, standards and governance practices.
• Experience in highly regulated or critical infrastructure environments.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement with executives and board.
• Experience in telecommunications, banking, energy, utilities or similar regulated sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise approach to non-financial risk management, establishing standards, methodologies and best practices.
• Own and continuously improve core risk processes including RCSA, issues management, incident management, risk acceptance and material change assessments.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of the enterprise RCSA program across business units.
• Translate enterprise Risk Management Approach into practical policies and minimum requirements.
• Set standards for issue severity rating, ownership, closure criteria, evidence and escalation, and for incident classification and root cause analysis.
• Scope and conduct post-incident reviews and maintain lessons learned repository.
• Embed consistent risk practices across technology, cyber, network, resilience, privacy, fraud and security domains.
• Build practical NFR capability through guidance and uplift across the 3 Lines of Defense.
• Support executive and board reporting on non-financial risk themes, incidents and remediation.
