Job summary

Lamiz Grill & Pizza Pty Ltd in Arundel, Queensland, is seeking an experienced Chef to lead kitchen operations and contribute to menu development. You will plan and prepare a range of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes, ensuring high standards of quality and consistency.

The role requires a minimum of one year of professional cooking experience with relevant qualifications, strong food safety knowledge, and the ability to manage costs and inventory in a busy restaurant environment.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year of full-time professional experience as a Chef in a restaurant or commercial kitchen, with a relevant qualification; or a minimum of three years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
• Sound knowledge of Australian food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and safe food-handling practices.
• Experience in inventory management, food costing, and coordinating kitchen activities.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Planning, developing, and reviewing menus with management, considering customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.
• Preparing and cooking Middle Eastern grilled dishes, kebabs, pizzas, and other menu items with consistent quality.
• Developing recipes, marinades, spice blends, and cooking techniques to enhance flavour and variety.
• Monitoring food preparation to maintain taste, portions, and presentation.
• Managing food costs, estimating ingredient needs, and assisting with menu pricing and cost control.
• Overseeing daily kitchen operations and coordinating preparations during busy periods.
• Training kitchen staff on techniques and safety procedures.
