AUSTRALIA STAR FOOD SERVICES PTY LTD – Newtown NSW is seeking an experienced Chef for a full‑time role at Salma Restaurant. You will lead daily kitchen operations, prepare Lebanese and Middle Eastern dishes, and ensure top‑quality presentation to diners.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years as a chef, strong teamwork and food costing skills, and a commitment to safety and hygiene. The role covers breakfast to dinner across a 40‑hour week from Wednesday to Sunday, with immediate start.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as a Chef with Lebanese/Middle Eastern cuisine focus.
• Strong knowledge of Middle Eastern ingredients, spices, recipes, and cooking methods.
• Ability to manage kitchen operations and supervise rosters during peak services.
• Commitment to food safety, hygiene, and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present Lebanese and Middle Eastern dishes with fresh ingredients.
• Oversee mezze, dips, mains, breakfast to dinner service.
• Coordinate kitchen operations and supervise food preparation.
• Organise staff duties, rosters, and daily production schedules.
• Manage ordering, stock, and food costs.
• Ensure compliance with Australian food safety standards.
• Minimise waste and maintain kitchen efficiency.
