Job summary

WorkPac Group in Mackay region is seeking an Excavator Operator for a busy coal mine. You will safely operate CAT6040, Hitachi EX5600 or Liebherr 996 excavators on a 12.5‑hour shift, on a 7/7 roster, with day and night shifts.

This role offers BIBO from Mackay and an ASAP start. Requirements include prior experience with large excavators, Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain), and a current Australian driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience operating large mining excavators (CAT, Hitachi, Liebherr).
• Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical or willingness to obtain.
• Current Australian driver's license and right to work.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate CAT6040, Hitachi EX5600 or Liebherr 996 excavators on a coal mine.
• Work 12.5-hour shifts on a 7/7 roster, day and night.

About Our Client

Our client is a leading Australian Mining and Resource client with operations and exploration projects across the Bowen and Surat basins, with four major coal-producing assets supplying metallurgical coal to a global market. They hold a strong track record of performance in developing, operating and rehabilitating coal resources to produce export metallurgical coal for steel making.

What You Will Be Doing

You will be working as an Excavator Operator on a busy coal mine under 2 hours from Mackay. You will be required to safely operate CAT6040, Hitachi EX5600 or Liebherr 996 Excavators. The successful candidate will be working 12.5-hour shifts on a 7/7 roster, day and night shift Thurs-Wed. These roles are available to BIBO (Mackay), DIDO and residential candidates.

What You Will Need

• Previous experience operating a CAT 6060/6040, Hitachi EX3600/EX5600 or Liebherr 996 Excavator providing an SSE signed transcript
• You will need to have obtained a Standard 11 & Coal Board Medical or be willing to attain this
• Current Drivers License & right to work in Australia
