Job summary

NW Mining & Civil is seeking an experienced excavator operator to join our team for the tin mine near Mount Garnet. The role involves operating a 50t excavator with GPS and performing final trim work as we build a tailings dam and run the production pit.

The project runs for ~2.5 years starting ASAP, with potential for follow-on work. Local Mount Garnet applicants are preferred; meals and accommodation are provided for DIDO from Cairns/Innisfail/Atherton region.

Qualifications

• Experience operating GPS-equipped excavators and performing final trim work.
• Minimum of 2.5 years of relevant work in earthmoving or mining support.
• Ability to pass medical and D&A screening; competent with site induction requirements.

NW Mining & Civil are seeking an experienced excavator operator with GPS and/or final trim skills to join our team as we commence the construction and operation of a tin mine near Mount Garnet.

Commencing ASAP, the initial stage of the work building a tailings dam and operating the production pit will run for approximately 2.5 years. Further work is expected to follow.

Our team will be small but mighty, a position exists to operate a 50t excavator using GPS carrying out final trim work. Experience constructing and maintaining tailings dams will be highly regarded.

Along with experience, your work ethic and safety attitude will be vital to the success of the project. You must be a team player, a great communicator and committed to the safety of yourself and everyone around you.

Roster will be Monday to Friday, working 12hr shifts. Local Mount Garnet applicants are preferred, meals and accommodation are provided for those able to DIDO from as far as Cairns/Innisfail/Atherton. Please note accommodation includes shared bathroom facilities.

Pay rate will be $55/hr flat as a casual employee.

If you have a Trainer & Assessor qualification a higher rate would apply for shifts worked carrying out those tasks.
