Job summary

Quantum Civil is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our civil construction team in Melbourne. You will operate a range of heavy machinery and perform plant operation tasks on commercial projects.

The ideal candidate will hold tickets for Posi Track, Excavator, Roller and Water Cart, along with GPS and Final Trim experience. A current HR license is preferred. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime is required. We offer competitive pay, training, and career development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Excavator Operator in civil construction.
• Tickets/VOC for Posi track, Excavator, Roller and Water Cart.
• GPS experience and final trim experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators from 5t to 45t safely and efficiently.
• Maintain plant including excavators, posi tracks, rollers and water carts.
• Conduct inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and report issues promptly.
• Maintain records of maintenance and dockets.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Excavator Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a variety of heavy machinery and equipment and be capable of performing a wide range of tasks related to plant operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate excavators ranging from 5t to 45t.
• Operate and maintain plant including but not limited to excavators, posi tracks, rollers and water carts.
• Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs as needed to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify and report any issues or abnormalities.
• Assist in the setup and shutdown of plant operations as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Collaborate with other team members and departments to achieve goals and objectives.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, dockets and other relevant information.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Excavator Operator or similar role in a civil construction company.
• Tickets / VOC for Posi track, Excavator, Roller and Water Cart.
• GPS Experience (Ideal)
• Final Trim Experience (Ideal)
• Current HR Driver's license (Ideal).
• Understanding of basic construction activities and methods.
• Good knowledge of hand tools and equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in plant operations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Physical stamina to work long hours.
