Job summary

Aligned Plant Hire in Cairns seeks experienced Excavator and Grader Operators for civil construction across Far North Queensland. You will operate GPS-equipped machines to achieve precise trim and finished surfaces on roadworks and subdivisions.

Ideal candidates have final trim experience, White Card, safety focus, and can work independently or as part of a crew. HR license or above and Trimble GPS familiarity are advantages.

Qualifications

• Proven final trim experience on one or both machines.
• Relevant tickets/licences and a current White Card.
• Strong safety focus and attention to detail.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a crew.

Responsibilities

• Deliver final trim and finished surfaces to design on roadworks, subdivisions and bulk earthworks.
• Trim subgrade, pavements, batters and drainage to tight tolerances.
• Daily pre-starts, machine care and reporting.
• Work closely with supervisors, surveyors and project teams.

The Role

We're seeking an experienced operators to join our team on civil construction projects in Cairns and across Far North Queensland. You'll be operating a GPS-equipped excavators or graders to deliver final trim and finished surfaces to tight tolerances on roadworks, subdivisions, and bulk civil projects.

What You'll Be Doing

• Final trim and finished surfaces to design on roadworks, subdivisions and bulk earthworks
• Trimming subgrade, pavements, batters and drainage to tight tolerances
• Daily pre-starts, machine care and reporting
• Working closely with supervisors, surveyors and project teams

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Proven final trim experience on one or both machines
• Relevant tickets/licences and a current White Card
• Strong safety focus and attention to detail
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a crew

Highly Desirable:

• Trimble GPS machine control experience (Earthworks, GCS900, or similar)
• Multi-machine capability
• Experience across roadworks, subdivisions, and bulk earthworks
• HR license or above
• Willingness to get out of the machine and help when required
• Happy to work away when required
