Job summary

Canterbury League Club is seeking an experienced Events Team Leader for a 3-month fixed-term contract to oversee event delivery across Canterbury's Food and Beverage operations. You will lead staff, coordinate setups, service delivery, and pack-down, while liaising with clients to ensure exceptional experiences.

Responsibilities include supervising hospitality staff, managing run sheets and menus, and monitoring labour and stock for cost control, with a strong emphasis on safety and RSA

Qualifications

• RSA and RCG certifications required.
• First Aid certification required.
• Experience supervising and training hospitality staff.
• Proficient with Word and Excel.
• Experience with Tripleseat or similar event system.
• Experience with Dayforce rostering.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate event setups, service delivery, changeovers and pack-down to ensure events run smoothly and meet client expectations.
• Lead, support and motivate event staff, allocate duties, provide on-the-job training and maintain high service standards.
• Liaise with clients and event organisers, respond to enquiries and resolve operational issues professionally.
• Review event run sheets, function requirements, room layouts and menus to ensure all operational details are communicated and delivered effectively.
• Oversee food and beverage operations, ensuring service quality, accurate orders and compliance with dietary and allergen requirements.
• Monitor labour, stock usage, wastage and consumables to support cost control and operational efficiency.
• Promote a safe working environment by ensuring food safety, WHS procedures and relevant RSA requirements are followed.
• Maintain accurate records, complete shift handovers and report incidents, equipment issues and operational concerns to management.
• Identify opportunities to improve event delivery, team performance, customer satisfaction and overall operational efficiency.
