Job summary

Canterbury League Club is seeking an Events Team Leader for a 3-month fixed term contract to support delivery of events across Food and Beverage operations. You will oversee event setup, service delivery and pack-down, while guiding and supporting team members to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

You will hold RSA & RCG certifications and First Aid, with proven experience supervising hospitality staff and using Word, Excel, Tripleseat, and rostering systems.

Qualifications

• RSA and RCG certifications required.

• Experience with Tripleseat or similar.
• Experience with restaurant and function booking systems.
• Experience with Dayforce rostering system or similar.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate event setups, service delivery, changeovers and pack-down.
• Lead, support and motivate event staff and allocate duties.
• Liaise with clients and event organisers; handle enquiries and issues.
• Review run sheets, room layouts and menus to communicate details.
• Oversee food and beverage operations; ensure dietary and allergen compliance.
• Monitor labour, stock usage, wastage and costs.
• Promote safety; ensure food safety, WHS and RSA requirements.
• Maintain records, shift handovers and report issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery and customer satisfaction.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Events Team Leader to join us for a 3 month Fixed Term contract position to support the successful delivery of events across Canterbury’s Food and Beverage operations. You will oversee event setup, service delivery and pack-down, while guiding and supporting team members to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate event setups, service delivery, changeovers and pack-down to ensure functions run smoothly and meet client expectations.
• Lead, support and motivate event staff, allocate duties, provide on-the-job training and maintain high service standards.
• Liaise with clients and event organisers, respond to enquiries and resolve operational issues professionally.
• Review event run sheets, function requirements, room layouts and menus to ensure all operational details are communicated and delivered effectively.
• Oversee food and beverage operations, ensuring service quality, accurate orders and compliance with dietary and allergen requirements.
• Monitor labour, stock usage, wastage and consumables to support cost control and operational efficiency.
• Promote a safe working environment by ensuring food safety, WHS procedures and relevant RSA requirements are followed.
• Maintain accurate records, complete shift handovers and report incidents, equipment issues and operational concerns to management.
• Identify opportunities to improve event delivery, team performance, customer satisfaction and overall operational efficiency.

About You

• Current RSA & RCG Certification.
• First Aid Certificate.
• Experience supervising and training hospitality staff.
• Competent using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Competent using Tripleseat Event System or similar.
• Competent using standard Restaurant and Function Booking Systems.
• Competent using Dayforce rostering system or similar.
