Job summary

The Cairns Jockey Club is seeking a Sales & Marketing Coordinator to drive revenue through proactive sales initiatives, strategic marketing, sponsorship engagement, and event promotion across Far North Queensland. You will build strong relationships with corporate clients, sponsors, members, community groups, and event organisers while elevating the club's profile in the region.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in sales, marketing, business development, events, hospitality, tourism, or related field.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and revenue growth.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
• Experience coordinating social media platforms and digital marketing campaigns.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; current Queensland Driver's Licence.
• Willingness to work weekends and race days when required.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business opportunities for race day hospitality, corporate events, conferences, weddings and private functions.
• Develop and maintain relationships with corporate clients, sponsors, members and industry partners.
• Identify sponsorship opportunities to increase commercial revenue.
• Conduct venue inspections, client presentations and on-the-ground function support.
• Prepare proposals, quotations and sponsorship packages.
• Meet or exceed sales targets and revenue objectives.
• Develop and implement marketing campaigns to promote race meetings and Club activities.
• Manage social media channels, website content and digital marketing campaigns.
• Assist in planning and execution of major race days and events, including the Ladbrokes Cairns Super Carnival.
• Build relationships with local businesses, tourism operators, and community groups.
