Job summary

The Cairns Convention Centre is seeking a hands-on Cleaning Coordinator to lead and support a casual cleaning crew across a busy venue. You will ensure high standards of cleanliness, manage daily duties, and train staff in safe cleaning practices.

The role offers opportunities to develop leadership skills within a world-class venue in tropical North Queensland. Flexibility to work varied hours including weekends and public holidays is required, and you must be able to reside in Cairns for over

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating a cleaning team in a commercial setting.
• Experience in commercial facility cleaning is required.
• Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety compliance.
• Ability to work varied hours including weekends, evenings and public holidays.
• Great attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Be able to reside in Cairns for more than 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the cleaning team to ensure the Centre is clean, tidy, and presented to a high standard.
• Perform daily cleaning duties and ensure all cleaning checklists are complete.
• Train and support team members in safe cleaning practices, including chemicals and equipment.
• Work with other departments to promote exceptional customer service and ensure WHS compliance.
• Assist with equipment and chemical management, inventory control and waste management.
