Job summary

The Cairns Convention Centre is seeking a hands-on Cleaning Coordinator to support and lead our casual cleaning team, ensuring the Centre remains pristine for every event. This role offers development of leadership skills and working in a world-class venue with a dynamic events calendar.

You will coordinate daily cleaning, train staff in safe practices, and collaborate with other departments to uphold high service standards and workplace safety across all shifts in Cairns.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating a cleaning team.
• Experience in commercial facility cleaning.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety compliance.
• Able to work varied hours including weekends and public holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the cleaning team to ensure the Centre is clean, tidy, and presented to a high standard.
• Perform daily cleaning duties and ensure all cleaning checklists are complete.
• Train and support team members in safe cleaning practices, including the use of chemicals and equipment.
• Work closely with other departments, promote exceptional customer service and ensure workplace health and safety requirements are followed.
• Assist with equipment and chemical management, inventory control and waste management.
