Behind every great event is a dedicated team making it all happen. And we're looking for an experienced Event Operations Manager to join ours!
We're looking for a proactive, organised and hands-on Event Operations Manager to take ownership of the planning and delivery of events across our calendar.
This isn't your typical desk job!
One day you'll be coordinating with councils, suppliers and stakeholders. The next you'll be planning event logistics, reviewing course layouts or leading a team on event day.
You'll be responsible for managing events from start to finish, ensuring everything runs safely, smoothly and successfully.
Working closely with our operations team, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional experiences for thousands of participants each year.
This is a full-time, office-based position at our Nowra headquarters. Regular travel across NSW and interstate is required, including weekend work during events.
Take ownership of assigned events from initial planning through to event delivery and post-event wrap-up.
Develop and manage event plans, operational documents, timelines and run sheets.
Coordinate event layouts, logistics, schedules and operational requirements.
Ensure event documentation is accurate, organised and up to date.
Build and maintain strong relationships with councils, authorities, venues, suppliers and community groups.
Coordinate event permits, approvals and compliance requirements.
Manage suppliers and contractors including traffic management, medical services, infrastructure and event equipment.
Work closely with internal teams to ensure everything is ready for event day.
Coordinate traffic management, road closures and event safety requirements.
Support risk assessments, emergency management plans and operational procedures.
Work with our warehouse and logistics teams to coordinate event equipment, inventory and resources.
Coordinate event staffing and volunteer requirements with the wider team.
Lead event setup, operations and pack-down.
Manage event-day teams, contractors and volunteers.
Make decisions and solve problems on the ground to keep events running smoothly.
Conduct event briefings, debriefs and post-event reviews.
You're the kind of person who loves seeing a plan come together.
You're organised, practical and confident managing multiple moving parts. You know how to keep calm when things don't go to plan and you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get involved.
You don't need to be a triathlete or marathon runner, but an interest in sport and events will certainly help!
We want someone who takes ownership, shows initiative and genuinely enjoys making things happen.
Someone who can confidently manage the behind-the-scenes planning while also being comfortable leading teams on the ground.
You'll enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are quite the same.
Most importantly, you're a team player who understands that delivering great events takes planning, collaboration, hard work and sometimes a little creative problem-solving!
