Job summary

Housing Industry Association (HIA) in Cairns, Queensland is seeking an organised Event Administrator to join our Events team. This role supports planning, registrations, and the delivery of industry-recognised awards and networking programs.

You will coordinate event registrations, maintain records in EventsAir and CRM, process invoices, assist with onsite delivery, and help with stakeholder communications. A proactive, detail‑oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in administration, events, customer service or a similar role.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confidence with databases, CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Proactive approach and willingness to learn.
  • Experience with events platforms is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating event registrations and attendee communications

Help deliver industry-leading events and awards programs

HIA is Australia's peak residential building industry association, supporting and advocating for a strong and sustainable housing sector.

We're looking for an organised and energetic Event Administrator to join our Events team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to coordinate events, manage registrations and support the delivery of industry-recognised awards and networking programs.

About the role

Reporting to the Events Manager, you'll provide administrative and operational support across HIA's events and awards programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating event registrations and attendee communications
  • Maintaining accurate records within EventsAir and CRM systems
  • Processing invoices, monitoring debtors and assisting with event reporting
  • Supporting event planning, logistics and onsite delivery
  • Assisting with awards program administration and stakeholder communications
  • Liaising with internal teams to support event promotion and member engagement
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and the customer experience
About you

You are organised, detail-oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You can manage multiple tasks, communicate professionally and work collaboratively as part of a team.

You'll ideally bring:
