Job summary

Balgowlah RSL Memorial Club in Sydney is seeking a kitchen assistant with at least 1 year in a similar role and good communication and attention to detail. You will work mainly evening shifts, 15-20 hours per week, contributing to food preparation and service.

Responsibilities include assisting with kitchen operations, following recipes, maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards, managing stock, minimizing wastage, and coordinating with senior chefs and staff.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in a similar role.
• Strong communications skills.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the operation of the kitchen.
• Prepare and cook using recipes, ensuring quality, consistency, and proper cooking techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in all work areas and equipment.
• Maintaining stock at correct levels
• Minimising wastage at both preparation and service stages
• Liaising with Executive Chef/Sous Chef and other staff ie; kitchen-hands, waiting staff
• Any other duties as directed by the Management
• Adherence to the Club’s Work, Health and Safety policies and procedures
• Keep uniforms clean and tidy, ensuring that a clean uniform is worn on each shift
