Job summary

The People Network in Sydney seeks a lead Estimator to manage the bidding on $10m-$50m+ fitout and refurbishment projects. You will work with the Construction Manager and General Manager, engage with subcontractors and consultants, and apply a consultative, detail‑driven approach to win outcomes.

Experience Tier 1–Tier 2 with strong fitout and heavy refurbishment is required; read plans carefully and challenge assumptions; leverage established subcontractor relationships.

• Experience Tier 1–Tier 2 estimator with strong fitout and heavy refurbishment experience (not office fitouts).
• Can read and interpret plans and challenge things as required; not just price what's there.
• Apply a consultative approach with stakeholders and drive meetings as required.
• Have good subcontractor networks and leverage relationships from many years in the industry.
• High attention to detail, strong technical construction knowledge and client-facing, relationship-building mindset.

ROLE

This is the lead Estimator for the Sydney office and will work closely with the Construction Manager and General Manager on all new business opportunities. Whilst you will be quite comfortable in what the technical estimating function is, this role expands on that as it requires the Estimator to have regular interactions with a variety of sub contractors and consultants; forming relationships that can be built on over time.

This is an AMAZING opportunity for a career focused Estimator to join a very stable and growing business, price $10m - $50m+ projects for blue chip clients and potentially evolve into some sort of Pre-Construction or Management role if that is what you are looking to do. This is definitely not a role that will see you sitting in the corner punching out BOQs..

YOU

Experience Tier 1 to Tier 2 level Estimator with strong fitout and heavy refurbishment experience. (not office fitouts).

Can read and interpret plans and challenge things as required; not just price what's there and move on to the next task.

Apply a consultative approach with stakeholder group and drive meetings as required.

Have good subby networks and can leverage your relationships due to many years in the industry that have led to lots of successful projects completed.

High attention to detail, strong technical construction knowledge and a client facing, confident and relationship building personality type.
