Job summary

Amida Group is seeking an Estimator to join our Sydney team. The role covers end-to-end estimating for commercial fit-out projects, from feasibility to final pricing, coordinating with pre-construction and delivery teams.

You will prepare detailed cost plans, review drawings and tender docs, and manage subcontractor pricing. This position offers a collaborative culture and clear career progression within a growing contractor.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar (preferred).
• 3–6+ years’ experience in an Estimator role within commercial construction or fit out.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and trade sequencing.
• Experience preparing competitive tenders and cost plans.
• High level of attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with subcontractors and consultants.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial construction and fit out projects.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation to fully understand project scope.
• Completing take-offs and pricing labour, materials, preliminaries and subcontractor packages.
• Preparing and issuing tender enquiries and managing subcontractor pricing returns.
• Analyzing subcontractor quotes, identifying scope gaps, exclusions and risk items.
• Assisting with early-stage feasibility estimates and cost plans.
• Providing value engineering options and alternative construction methodologies.
• Supporting the preparation of tender submissions, budgets and cash flow forecasts.
• Working closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers and Directors during tender reviews.
• Maintaining accurate estimating records and cost databases.
• Attending tender meetings, site inspections and clarification meetings as required.
• Supporting handover of successful tenders to delivery teams.
• Contributing to continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes.
