Job summary

Formula Interiors is seeking an experienced Estimator to drive cost plans, budgets and tender submissions for commercial fit-outs and refurbishments. The role focuses on analysing drawings, specs and consultant reports to identify risks and opportunities, and to support tender and ECI processes with accurate cost estimation.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in commercial construction estimating, strong stakeholder skills, and hands-on experience with Buildsoft and EstimateOne.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years estimating experience within commercial construction.
• Proven ability to interpret drawings, specifications and consultant documentation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced Buildsoft experience and experience using EstimateOne and relevant procurement platforms.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation including drawings, specifications and consultant reports.
• Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates, BOQs and tender submissions.
• Coordinate and manage the complete tender process from enquiry through to submission.
• Develop tender programmes and procurement strategies where required.
• Identify scope gaps, ambiguities, exclusions, risks and opportunities within project documentation.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Obtain competitive pricing and ensure appropriate trade coverage is achieved.
• Participate in client meetings, tender interviews and project presentations.
• Prepare budgets, cost plans and feasibility estimates for Design & Construct and ECI services.
• Maintain estimating databases, benchmark rates and historical project information.

Job description

To prepare accurate, commercially competitive and professionally presented cost plans, budgets, tenders and submissions that contribute to Formula Interiors' growth, profitability and tender conversion success. The Estimator plays a key role within the pre-construction team by identifying project risks and opportunities, engaging with clients, consultants and subcontractors, and providing commercial input throughout the tender, D&C and ECI process. The role is expected to contribute to continuous improvement of estimating systems, processes, market intelligence and conversion performance across the business.

Key responsibilities

Review tender documentation including drawings, specifications and consultant reports

Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates, BOQs and tender submissions

Coordinate and manage the complete tender process from enquiry through to submission

Develop tender programmes and procurement strategies where required

Identify scope gaps, ambiguities, exclusions, risks and opportunities within project documentation

Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers

About you

Minimum 5 years estimating experience within commercial construction

Demonstrated experience delivering commercial fitout and refurbishment tenders

Experience across Lump Sum, Design & Construct (D&C) and ECI projects

Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing

Sound commercial acumen and risk assessment capability

Proven ability to interpret drawings, specifications and consultant documentation

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Advanced Buildsoft experience and experience using EstimateOne and relevant procurement platforms
