Job summary

The University of Newcastle is seeking a Project Officer, Equity Pathways and Student Transition to deliver practical, evidence-informed initiatives that create more equitable and accessible tertiary pathways. The fixed-term role is full-time, HEW 6, from 2 February 2027 to 31 December 2027 at Callaghan Campus.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating projects, meetings, workshops and stakeholder activities.
• Proactive approach to improving processes and service delivery.
• Strong interpersonal skills and confidence working with diverse stakeholders.
• Well-developed organisational, written communication and reporting skills.
• Experience maintaining and analysing accurate data to demonstrate progress and outcomes.
• Collaborative, solutions-focused approach and commitment to educational equity.
• Experience supporting equity initiatives, VET–higher education pathways, student transition activities would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate equity pathway and transition projects, including plans, timelines, meetings, records and reporting.
• Support student engagement activities for low-SES and First Nations students.
• Coordinate VET-to-higher education pathways, articulation and transition activities.
• Capture and analyse participation, feedback and outcomes for reporting.
• Support compliance, quality assurance and documentation.
• Identify issues and risks and suggest practical improvements.
