Job summary

HRG Recruitment is seeking a Melbourne-based BMS Project Manager to own complex BMS/IBMS projects from concept through commissioning and handover. You will manage data centres, healthcare facilities, education, and commercial towers in Victoria, leading multidisciplinary teams with autonomy and visibility in a global business.

You can advance into program management, leadership, engineering management or a technical specialist path as the pipeline grows and opportunities expand.

Qualifications

• Qualification in electrical/HVAC/controls/engineering.
• Experience delivering BMS/BAS/IBMS in commercial, healthcare, industrial, education or critical infrastructure settings.
• Strong knowledge of BACnet/Modbus and IT networking.
• Experience with HVAC plant and energy optimisation strategies.
• Hands-on experience leading FAT, SAT, commissioning and building tuning.

Responsibilities

• Run full lifecycle of BMS/IBMS projects from design to handover.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams to hit milestones, financial targets and customer outcomes.
• Own the commercials, including budgets, forecasting, schedules, resources and contract deliverables.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams as trusted technical advisor.
• Maintain safety culture and compliance with quality standards and regulations.
• Produce project documentation, risk assessments and QA deliverables.
• Identify opportunities to improve standardisation and efficiency.

What You Will Be Working On

• Running the full lifecycle of BMS and IBMS projects: design, engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover
• Leading multidisciplinary teams to hit milestones, financial targets and customer outcomes
• Owning the commercials, including budgets, forecasting, schedules, resources and contract deliverables
• Overseeing FAT, SAT, commissioning, system optimisation and technical handoversBuilding strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams, and acting as their trusted technical advisor
• Keeping projects aligned with customer specifications, quality standards and regulations while leading a strong safety culture
• Producing project documentation, reports, risk assessments and QA deliverables
• Finding ways to improve standardisation and efficiency, with room to shape how projects are delivered

What Type of Person Will Be Successful

• A qualification in electrical, HVAC, controls, automation or engineering
• A track record delivering BMS, BAS or IBMS projects in commercial, healthcare, industrial, education or critical infrastructure settings
• Strong knowledge of controls architecture and system integration, including BACnet, Modbus, networking and IT infrastructure
• Experience with HVAC plant such as chillers, boilers and AHUs, along with energy optimisation strategies
• Hands on experience leading FAT, SAT, commissioning and building tuning
• Sound commercial judgement across budgets, profitability and project risk
• Confident stakeholder skills and a proactive, solutions focused approach
