Job summary

Healthscope Hospitals is seeking Environmental Services Assistants to work across operating suites on a casual basis at Nepean Private Hospital in Penrith, NSW. You will be part of a team responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in operating theatres and related areas.

Join a supportive team within Healthscope, with flexibility to work across multiple sites and on-call shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Healthcare/hotel/airline cleaning experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness to operating theatres.
• Ensuring all equipment utilised on shifts is cleaned, restocked and stored in the appropriate storage areas.
• Upholding infection control standards by adhering to standard protocols and any additional precautions.
• Disposing of soiled general and clinical waste.
• Working in a friendly and supportive manner at all times.
• Maintaining communication networks with nursing staff and other stakeholders ensuring quality clinical outcomes are achieved.

We are seeking Environmental Services Assistants to work across our operating suites on a Casual basis. This opportunity will have you being a part of a brilliant team of people responsible for providing the highest standards of cleanliness.

About us

Nepean Private Hospital is located in the multi-cultural Western Sydney City of Penrith. The hospital is a modern 109 bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community since 2000 including: orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography and obstetrics. Nepean Private Hospital has eight operating Theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre and an endoscopy suite, supported by a critical care unit which includes intensive care.

It is an exciting time for Nepean Private Hospital. We are investing in our future with an exciting $38M redevelopment which will see our Hospital grow to meet the needs of our growing community with 4 new operating theatres, purpose built pre-admission area, new sterilising department, new foyer and retail space, new consulting suites, refurbished main entry and a new car park. And we have just purchased a new $3.5Million Da Vinci Robot to expand our complex surgery program. Nepean Private Hospital has established an excellent reputation in the community for its high commitment to customer service, staff satisfaction and quality improvement

As an Environmental Service Assistant your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness to operating theatres
• Ensuring all equipment utilised on shifts is cleaned, restocked and stored in the appropriate storage areas
• Upholding infection control standards by adhering to standard protocols and any additional precautions
• Disposing of soiled general and clinical waste
• Working in a friendly and supportive manner at all times
• Maintaining communication networks with nursing staff and other stakeholders ensuring quality clinical outcomes are achieved
• Previous cleaning experience in Healthcare/hotel/airline cleaning
• Working with Children check
• Commitment to service excellence.
• Proven time management skills and ability to manage priorities
• Strong communication and customer skills
• Work well independently and within a team
• Available for on call shifts including weekends
