Job summary

Newcastle Private Hospital, operated by Healthscope Hospitals, is seeking experienced environmental services and cleaning professionals for a casual, rotating roster including mornings, evenings and nights. Roles involve high-standard cleaning, infection control compliance, and delivering excellent customer service to staff and patients.

Ideal candidates have prior hospital or medical cleaning experience, strong communication skills, and flexibility to cover a 7-day roster.

Qualifications

• Experience as cleaner or infectious cleaning specialist in a hospital, aged care or medical setting.
• Ability to work across a rotating roster including mornings, evenings and nights.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard of cleaning services across the hospital.
• Operate in line with infection control standards and WHS policy & procedures.
• Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients.
• Assist wider hospital teams to ensure patient satisfaction is achieved.
• Follow Healthscope policies and participate in education and appraisals.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
• Support safety and quality improvement across safety aspects.

Newcastle Private is currently seeking experienced environmental services and cleaning professionals to join our dynamic team in a casual opportunity.

We are searching for team members experienced in a high level of cleaning, preferably with hospital or similar experienceto work across a rotating 7-day roster including mornings, evenings and nights.

Successful applicants may also be able to pick up or be trained for further work in the Food Services Department.

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Provide high standard of cleaning services


• Operate in line with infection control standards and WHS policy & procedures


• Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients


• Act in accordance with all manual handling protocols


• Assisting the wider hospital teams to ensure patient satisfaction is always achieved


• Demonstrate professional practice by working according to Healthscope’s policies and processes, code of conduct and by participating in yearly performance appraisals and mandatory education.


• Maintain skills and standards of customer service and ensure patient confidentiality and privacy are maintained at all times.


• Supports Healthscope’s safety and quality improvement in all aspects of safety including Work Health & Safety

What you’ll need to succeed

• Demonstrated experience as cleaner or infectious cleaning specialist in a hospital, aged care or medical setting


• Have enthusiasm, drive and passion to prepare and maintain an appropriate work area to the highest standard of excellence


• Good communication and customer service skills


• Be able to commit to the flexibility of working Monday to Sunday on a rotating roster including afternoon, evening and occasional night shifts.
