Job summary

Prince of Wales Private Hospital in Randwick, NSW seeks a Theatre Assistant to join the theatre team. You will ensure safe patient transfer, handling and positioning, maintaining a clean, safe theatres environment and supporting nursing staff in a fast-paced setting.

Applicants should have Certificate III in Health Support Services (desirable) and a WWCC; willingness to work a 7-day rotating roster including night shifts is essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Health Support Services or equivalent is desirable.
• Prior hospital experience is preferred.
• WWCC (Working with Children Check) is required where applicable.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Safe transfer of patients to and from the operating theatre.
• Provide safe, effective patient handling and positioning.
• Maintain a safe patient environment, including setup and cleaning of theatres during procedures.
• Provide support to the nursing staff.

As a Theatre Assistant your responsibilities will include:

• Safe transfer of patients to and from the operating theatre
• Provide safe effective patient handling and positioning.
• Maintaining a safe patient environment including the setup and cleaning of theatres during procedures
• Providing support to the nursing staff
• Authority to Work in Australia
• Prior experience in a hospital environment
• Prior experience in a similar role will be highly reagrded
• Certificate III in Health Support Services or equivalent (desirable)
• Hold a valid Working with Children check
• Commitment to service excellence
• Ability to prioritise and organise work, with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
• High level attention to detail
• Able to work a 7- day rotating roster including Night shifts.
