Job summary

Bluefin Resources and HSRA are seeking a Manager – Environment & Planning to lead environmental assessment workstreams for the Sydney–Newcastle High Speed Rail project. The role involves coordinating technical specialists, managing external consultants and delivering Environmental Impact Statements within NSW frameworks and EPBC Act guidance.

Ideal candidates have experience across major linear infrastructure, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to engage with regulatory

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in environmental impact assessment, EIS preparation and statutory approvals.
• Strong understanding of NSW environmental planning frameworks and Commonwealth environmental legislation (EPBC Act).
• Experience delivering environmental approvals for major linear infrastructure projects (rail, road, tunnelling).
• Project management capability including managing external consultants, scopes, schedules and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental planning, impact assessment and statutory approvals activities for major infrastructure packages.
• Support preparation, review and delivery of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and related documentation.
• Coordinate external consultants and technical work packages to meet milestones.
• Review biodiversity, ecology, contamination, noise, air quality and other environmental studies.
• Integrate findings into environmental assessments, planning, and risk management.
