Job summary

SMEC in Sydney is seeking a Senior Engineer / Project Manager to lead end-to-end rail project delivery, managing complex lifecycle across major infrastructure. Based in North Sydney or Parramatta, you will drive design, governance and multi-disciplinary coordination.

The ideal candidate has Civil/Structural Engineering qualifications and 8+ years’ rail delivery experience, with strong leadership, client relationships, and a proven track record of successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years’ experience delivering Rail infrastructure projects.
• High-level communication skills to advise and guide project design development.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary, national-significant projects.
• Strong client relationship management and risk handling.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management and governance of complex rail projects for timely, quality outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through project delivery.
• Provide leadership to project teams for cohesion and performance.
• Collaborate to ensure quality, timeliness, and coordination of deliverables.
• Contribute to commercial success and business development activities.
• Support bids, tenders, and proposals with internal teams.
