Job summary

Verkada is seeking a Solutions Engineer in Melbourne with deep expertise in Cloud Security, IoT systems, networking, Linux, and access control. You will partner with Territory Enterprise Account Executives to expand Verkada’s footprint upmarket into Fortune 500 companies and support deployments with customers and partners.

This full-time remote role requires Melbourne residence and frequent travel. You’ll interface across Sales, Product, Support, Marketing, and Enablement to deliver technical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, DHCP, NAT and VLANs.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proven account management and attention to detail.
• Entrepreneurial and proactive attitude with willingness to learn.
• Experience with IT infrastructure, Linux, APIs, Python or similar.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the trusted technical advisor to key customer stakeholders (CTOs, CISOs, IT executives).
• Translate customer requirements into Verkada deployment designs and solutions.
• Lead product demonstrations and tailor presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with sales and product teams to design effective technical deployments.
• Travel regularly (approx. 40%) domestically and internationally as needed.

About the Role

Verkada is seeking a Solutions Engineer in Melbourne with expert experience in Cloud Security, IoT Systems, Networking, Linux systems, Security Surveillance and Access Control. This individual will partner directly with their Territory Enterprise Account Executives to expand the Verkada footprint upmarket into Fortune 500 companies. Responsibilities include directly interfacing with customers/partners throughout the sales process, overcoming technical objections, assisting customers in designing deployments with Verkada Products and providing technical assistance to territory Enterprise AE's. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, able to learn quickly and work independently while making impactful results for the company remotely.

This is a full‑time remote position; applicants must be located in Melbourne.

What You’ll Do

• Be the trusted technical advisor to key customer stakeholders: CTOs, CISOs, IT Executives, Security Engineers, Network Engineers, Head of Physical Security, etc


• Utilise your technical expertise to understand and navigate customer requirements


• Collaborate with the sales team to assess and qualify Enterprise customer opportunities, and contribute to the design of effective technical solutions


• Lead product demonstrations and deliver engaging presentations tailored to both technical and non‑technical audiences


• Act as the Verkada technical Subject Matter Expert, collaborating closely with other departments such as Product, Support, Marketing, and Enablement


• This role requires regular travel, estimated to be 40% of the time, including both domestic and international destinations as needed. The successful candidate must be comfortable with frequent travel to support business operations, customer and partner engagements and team collaboration

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Information and Computer Technology, Cybersecurity, Networking, IT Security, Computer Engineering or related degree from an accredited university


• Demonstrate a solid understanding of TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs and L2 devices


• Exhibit outstanding written and verbal communication skills, along with effective presentation abilities


• Excellent account management, follow-through, and attention to detail


• Entrepreneurial and positive attitude with a strong desire to learn


• Experience working with IT infrastructure, Linux operating systems, APIs, Python, and other coding languages preferred


• Industry certifications are a plus: Network +, Security+, CCNA, AWS Solutions Architect, etc.


• Must be located in Melbourne


• Must be willing and able to travel
