Job summary

OpenAI in Sydney is seeking an AI Architect to own the technical strategy for a portfolio of customers, guiding pre-sales through deployment and business impact. You will coordinate with engineers, security, and product teams, and act as the CTO of your book of business.

This role requires deep experience with APIs, distributed systems, and modern AI workflows; you will prototype, assess tradeoffs, and drive value as customers scale production.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in customer-facing technical roles such as solutions architecture or technical account leadership.
• Guided enterprises from evaluation to production adoption and measurable business impact.
• Ability to communicate with senior technical and business leaders and with hands-on engineers.
• Strong foundations in software and cloud architectures, APIs, distributed systems, data integration, identity, security and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical advisor for a named portfolio of customers and pre-sales prospects.
• Own the technical account plan, milestones, adoption priorities, and expansion opportunities.
• Lead discovery with executive and technical teams to identify and prioritize use cases tied to business outcomes.
• Develop Applied AI Architectures across models, applications, data, integration, security, privacy and governance.
