Job summary

CHES in Victoria is seeking an experienced English teacher to design and deliver high-ability masterclasses for Year 7-8 students. You will work across CHES and regional venues, collaborating with fellow teachers to extend learning and promote critical thinking.

The role includes developing curriculum, delivering masterclasses, and contributing to professional learning for leaders, with hybrid on-site and online delivery across Victoria.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning high impact teaching strategies and evaluating learning growth.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning with data-informed feedback.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, parents and community.
• Commitment to Department values and ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop challenging English masterclass curriculum for high-ability students.
• Plan and deliver full-day masterclasses at CHES and regional venues.
• Apply English knowledge and teaching approaches to promote critical thinking.
• Collaborate with CHES and Department to create teaching resources.
• Contribute to professional learning for High Ability Practice Leaders.
• Use student evidence to refine the program and VHAP delivery.
• Participate in planning for CHES teaching and learning programs.
