Job summary

You will grow the team, set technical standards, drive AI-enabled SDLC practices with agents, partner with product managers, and deliver reliable estimates while mitigating risks in a fast-paced SaaS environment.

Engineering Team Lead | .NET + React | $200k + Super

I'm hiring an Engineering Team Lead for an established, global SaaS business.

This is a genuine player-coach role.

You'll lead a team of 4-8 engineers while spending 40-60% of your time still building the product yourself.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading and managing a team of 4-8 engineers, owning their growth, performance and delivery
• Staying hands-on as a senior engineer, designing, building and enhancing the product
• Setting the technical bar for your team and growing the engineers around you
• Leading and expanding the use of AI within an AI-driven SDLC, raising the bar for how the team builds software with agentic tools
• Partnering closely with product managers on the how, the why and the when of what gets built
• Building accurate delivery estimates and making sure the team consistently meets its commitments
• Monitoring issues and risks, proactively seeking solutions, and being part of the solution

What we’re looking for:

• Prior experience leading engineers with direct reports. Or, without the title, significant and demonstrable evidence of up‑levelling teams and peer engineers
• Extremely clear communication, with a strong ability to influence and persuade decisions even when you’re not directly in charge
• A track record of taking on hard, risky work that has sometimes failed, and of owning the result and building towards success
• Full‑stack capability, comfortable across backend technologies as well as the front end
• Strong, demonstrable use of agentic engineering tools and techniques such as Claude Code, Codex or similar
