Job summary

SSEN Transmission is recruiting engineering leaders in Scotland to join as Assistant Engineering Manager or Engineering Manager. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through development, design, construction, commissioning and handover of major transmission assets that support a net-zero network.

The role offers senior-level responsibility with a focus on safety, technical excellence and stakeholder collaboration across complex infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• A degree in engineering with Chartered Engineer status desirable.
• Experience delivering engineering solutions in electrical transmission or regulated infrastructure.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong technical judgement, risk management and prioritisation skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams with the right capability and resources.
• Drive engineering excellence, innovation and sound engineering practice throughout the project lifecycle.
• Promote a positive safety culture through Safety by Design principles and CDM compliance.
• Ensure engineering specifications, standards and deliverables meet project and network requirements.
• Build relationships with project teams and stakeholders to keep engineering central to delivery.
