Job summary

SSE is seeking a Lead Project Engineer to support high value transmission projects across Scotland. You will drive development, design, delivery, commissioning and handover for complex assets, including managing interfaces between multiple disciplines.

You will lead project teams, mentor engineers, and ensure regulatory CDM/ESQCR compliance while coordinating with consultants and contractors in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in transmission project development and delivery across multiple projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil engineering; Chartered status desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support project teams in development and delivery of transmission projects.
• Collaborate with engineers to identify and mitigate design risks pre-construction.
• Implement CDM procedures and other regulatory requirements for substation design.
• Coordinate design assurance reviews and gate documentation for large capital projects.
• Mentor and develop engineers, working with consultants and contractors.
