Job summary

SSE Transmission is recruiting an Assistant Forestry Manager to support forestry planning and delivery on transmission projects. You will work with Forestry Managers and project teams to ensure safe, responsible and detailed forestry activity across the project lifecycle.

This development role offers exposure to land, environment and project delivery specialists, with opportunities to grow expertise in timber harvesting and woodland management within a major infrastructure program.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of forestry management practice and timber harvesting operations.
• Understanding of woodland valuation and standing tree crops.
• Good communication and organisational skills for working with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support forestry planning, design and delivery across a portfolio of transmission projects.
• Coordinate forestry project management activities and programme updates.
• Identify and manage forestry-related risks to project delivery and safety.
• Support forestry input at different project stages from site assessment to delivery.
• Build relationships with landowners, tenants, agents, forestry contractors and stakeholders.
