Job summary

Wood is seeking an Engineering Manager to grow its Brisbane Mining & Mineral group, delivering critical metals projects with a strong focus on safety, design integrity and stakeholder leadership. The role oversees multi‑discipline engineering work, drives technical excellence and aligns with HSSE, quality, schedule and budget goals on large projects.

The position requires extensive engineering leadership experience, Chartered Engineer status and a track record in mining or battery-related

Qualifications

• 15+ years progressive experience in discipline engineering.
• 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent with professional body.
• Mining/mineral project experience and battery-related projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical assurance on the assigned scope of work.
• Lead discipline engineering teams and supervise staff.
• Manage key stakeholders in project delivery.
• Develop and retain motivated, competent people.
• Act as process owner; drive safety by design.
• Lead opportunities for innovation and improvement.
• Participate in design, development and inspections when required.
• Represent the business professionally to clients and partners.
• Conduct audits and incident investigations; project management.
