Job summary

MineARC Systems is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team across Australia and South Africa, driving delivery from concept to production.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will oversee approximately 19 engineers and support staff, shape the strategic direction of the department, collaborate with manufacturing to improve design for manufacture, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Manufacturing or related Engineering discipline.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in manufacturing/mining environments.
• Strong knowledge of product design and design for manufacture.

MineARC Systems is a global leader in safety technology for the mining, tunnelling and industrial sectors. We design and manufacture innovative, life-saving products that are used around the world.

We're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our multidisciplinary Engineering team and drive the successful delivery of new and existing products from concept through to production.

This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, developing high‑performing teams and working closely with manufacturing to deliver practical engineering solutions.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Engineering and General Manager, you will lead a team of approximately 19 engineering, technical and support personnel across Australia and South Africa. The Engineering Manager will be involved in the strategic planning of the department and be part of an 11‑person Executive Team that play a pivotal role in the strategic direction of the company and set an example for the standards of MineARC.

You will be responsible for:

• Report to senior management via weekly Executive Committee meetings.
• Leading and developing a multidisciplinary engineering team across Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Software and Industrial Design.
• Managing engineering workload, resources and project priorities.
• Driving engineering excellence, design quality and technical decision-making.
• Supporting the successful delivery of new products into manufacture.
• Working closely with Production to improve manufacturability, reduce rework and streamline product handovers.
• Monitoring project performance, identifying risks and implementing practical solutions.
• Coaching and developing engineering teams while enforcing a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Contributing as a member of the Executive Committee, providing strategic engineering insight, supporting business planning, and influencing organisational direction.
• Supporting strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management.
• Drive and deliver initiatives aligned with the company's strategic business objectives

About You

You are a technically capable engineering leader who enjoys balancing people leadership with practical engineering outcomes.

You'll bring:

• A degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Manufacturing or a related Engineering discipline.
• Extensive experience leading engineering teams within manufacturing, mining, industrial equipment or product development environments.
• Strong knowledge of product design, manufacturing processes and design for manufacture principles.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex engineering projects.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• The confidence to make difficult decisions, prioritise competing demands and drive accountability.
• Strong experience with SolidWorks.
• Chartered Engineer status (CPEng), Engineers Australia membership or postgraduate management qualifications would be highly regarded.
