Job summary

Townsville City Council seeks an experienced Coordinator Engineering Assessment to lead its Engineering Assessment team within Planning and Development. You will steer complex reviews of road, water, sewer, drainage, flood assets and subdivision work, ensuring alignment with Townsville City Plan and legislation.

You will translate engineering concepts into clear guidance for developers and stakeholders, manage workloads, and drive continuous improvement in assessment processes.

Qualifications

• Must hold a relevant engineering degree and be eligible for professional membership.
• Experience leading development assessment teams and guiding complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of planning legislation, codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary development engineering assessment team.
• Influence major housing and infrastructure projects and shape Townsville's future.
• Guide complex assessments of road, water, sewer, drainage and flooding designs.
• Provide leadership, technical direction and balanced engineering judgement.
• Review complex material, advise on development conditions, and monitor performance.
