Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our busy Townsville offices. You will focus on drainage and/or flooding projects, shaping design approaches and leading technical delivery with a strong emphasis on practical, compliant outcomes.

With 5–15 years’ experience, you will mentor other engineers, deliver hydraulic modelling using 12D/Civil3D/TUFLOW and engage with clients and regulators while relocating to Townsville with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Experience in drainage and flood modelling for major infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in hydraulic analysis and stormwater design.
• RPEQ eligible or able to apply for RPEQ.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver drainage designs, stormwater plans and hydraulic assessments for local and major projects.
• Provide specialised input using Civil3D, 12D, TUFLOW and related tools.
• Develop practical solutions to drainage, flooding and water quality challenges.
• Produce high quality reports and provide mentoring to junior engineers.
• Engage with clients, regulators and stakeholders to support project delivery and winning work.
• Ensure alignment with Australian standards and guidelines.
